Father Who Killed His 10-Year-Old Daughter Assaulted in Prison

The case quickly became one of the most disturbing child abuse stories to surface in recent years.

The Tragic Death of Sara Sharif

The horrifying murder of 10-year-old Sara Sharif in August 2023 sparked global outrage. Her father, Urfan Sharif, later confessed to the brutal killing, admitting to a prolonged and horrific “campaign of torture” that led to her death.

Next to her was a chilling handwritten confession by her father:

“It’s me, Urfan Sharif, who killed my daughter by beating. I am running away because I am scared.”

Just one day before Sara’s body was discovered, Urfan Sharif, his partner Beinash Batool, and his brother Faisal Malik fled to Pakistan, triggering an international manhunt.

Horrific Details Revealed in Court

During the court proceedings, forensic experts revealed Sara had suffered more than 70 injuries, including:

  • 11 fractures to her spine
  • A puncture wound to the head
  • A traumatic brain injury
  • Burns from a domestic iron
  • Human bite marks

Despite initially denying involvement, Urfan eventually admitted in court:

“She died because of me.”

Sentencing: A Campaign of Torture

On December 17, 2024, the court handed down harsh sentences:

  • Urfan Sharif: Life in prison with a minimum of 40 years
  • Beinash Batool: Life imprisonment with a 33-year minimum
  • Faisal Malik: 16 years for causing or allowing the death of a child

Justice Cavanagh described the abuse as a “campaign of torture,” adding that “the degree of cruelty involved is almost inconceivable.”

Sara’s biological mother, Olga Domin, delivered a powerful victim impact statement, calling the trio “sadists” and “executioners.” She added:

“Sara is now an angel who looks down on us from heaven. She is no longer experiencing violence.”

Urfan Sharif Attacked in Prison by Fellow Inmates

Now imprisoned at HMP Belmarsh—a high-security facility often referred to as Britain’s Guantanamo Bay—Sharif quickly learned that even among criminals, there is no tolerance for child abusers.

According to a prison insider who spoke with The Sun,

“Word quickly got around about who he was. Inmates weren’t happy having someone like him in there.”

On New Year’s Day, only weeks after receiving his sentence, Sharif was violently attacked in his cell by two fellow prisoners using a makeshift weapon crafted from the lid of a tuna can.

“He was sliced in the neck and face and is still in healthcare,” the source revealed. “He’s lucky to be alive and will carry scars as a permanent reminder.”

“A lot of them are saying how it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.”

Who Was Behind the Attack?

Reports allege that one of the attackers was Steve Sansom, an inmate already serving a life sentence for the 2024 murder and dismemberment of Sarah Mayhew. Sansom also has a prior conviction from 1999 for the murder of cab driver Terrence Boyle.

A Chilling Reminder of Prison Justice

This attack highlights an unwritten rule behind bars: even hardened criminals despise those who harm children. Sharif now lives with a target on his back, and prison officials are expected to keep him under heightened security moving forward.
