Jennifer Lopez mocked in Saudi Arabia for pink catsuit outfit

Jennifer Lopez turned heads at the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah on April 19, arriving in a striking all-pink ensemble that immediately stirred conversation online.

The 55-year-old singer and actress, representing Ferrari at the event, wore a head-to-toe bubblegum pink catsuit, accessorized with rose-tinted sunglasses and a metallic clutch. The look, while undeniably eye-catching, drew a wide range of reactions across social media platforms.

Some fans praised Lopez for her boldness, applauding her confidence and ageless style. Others, however, were less impressed, likening her outfit to that of a “Power Ranger” and suggesting it was more theatrical than fashionable.

“Those guys look so unimpressed,” one user commented under a photo of Lopez posing in front of a group of seemingly indifferent F1 crew members. Others criticized the outfit’s fit and style, suggesting it was overly tight and attention-seeking.

While many of the comments were humorous, some veered into harsh territory—targeting not just her wardrobe, but her age and recent personal life changes, particularly her divorce from Ben Affleck.

“Granny, you’ve still got the figure, but maybe it’s time to dress your age,” one commenter wrote on Facebook. Another added: “The makeup helps from afar, but close up, not so much.”

Lopez was in Jeddah not just as a guest but also as a performer. She’s scheduled to headline the post-race concert hosted by MDLBEAST, Saudi Arabia’s major entertainment platform, alongside acts like Usher, Major Lazer, and Peggy Gou.

The concert is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 initiative; an ambitious plan to diversify the country’s economy and reduce its reliance on oil. A key element of the plan is investing in the entertainment sector, drawing international talent across music, gaming, sports, and film.

For some Western performers, Saudi Arabia has become a controversial but lucrative opportunity to reintroduce themselves to new audiences. But not all fans are on board with the move.

“Why are you performing in Saudi Arabia at all?” one user asked. “Don’t you already have enough money?” Another wrote, “She probably got paid $10 million to appear – beyond disappointing.”

Despite the online criticism, Lopez continues to maintain a busy and high-profile year. In March, she began filming her upcoming romantic comedy Office Romance, where she stars opposite Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein. The project follows the successful premiere of her recent musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman at Sundance, which garnered strong critical praise and is set for a theatrical release in October 2025.

Musically, Lopez is gearing up for her Up All Night 2025 European tour, promising high-energy performances across major cities. She’s also set to host the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26, further cementing her enduring presence in the entertainment world.
