A Beechcraft A36TC crashed in the parking lot of Brethren Village, a retirement community in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, sending five people to the hospital. The plane caught fire, igniting several cars, but no one on the ground was injured.
The jet took off as planned but was ordered to return due to an open door. The pilot, struggling to hear radio communications, crashed near the terminal. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and residents were told to shelter in place.
The aircraft, en route to Ohio’s Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, crashed just two streets from Lancaster Airport.
This incident adds to a series of aviation disasters in early 2025, including a fatal medical jet crash in Philadelphia, a small plane crash in Alaska, and a midair collision in Arizona. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the Pennsylvania crash.
