About Loretta And Oliver Lynn Jr.

Loretta Lynn was just 15 years old when she married Oliver Lynn Jr. on January 10, 1948. In the years that followed, the couple welcomed six children together.

Oliver passed away on August 22, 1996, from health complications related to diabetes and heart failure. Loretta died many years later in 2022 at the age of 90.

It’s widely known that Loretta credited Oliver for helping launch her country music career. She often said he was her biggest supporter.

And Loretta was just as proud of her husband as he was of her, especially when it came to his military service.

On Veterans Day in 2020, she shared a photo of Oliver at 17 years old in his uniform. Along with it, she posted two other pictures of their sons, Jack and Ernie, who both followed in their father’s footsteps and also served in the military.

“Here they are–my three favorite veterans–my husband Doo, and my boys Jack and Ernie,” Loretta wrote in the caption. “Y’all look how young Doolittle is here! I always thought my boys looked so handsome in their uniforms. I was so proud of them for serving. I’ve always loved our Veterans. Thanks to all you men and women out there who have served our nation. We are grateful!”
