‘Heartbroken’ Paris Hilton issues statement as she’s forced to watch own home burn down in LA wildfires live on TV

The Simple Life star said it was something ‘no one should ever have to experience’

Paris Hilton has discussed how ‘overwhelming’ it has been to lose her Malibu home in the Los Angeles wildfires.

Officials reported last night (8 January) that at least five people have been killed and 1,000 structures damaged in the wind-fuelled Pacific Palisades Fires.

Californian residents were told to evacuate the area on Tuesday (7 January), the day the raging embers began.

According to AccuWeather, the fires have already caused an estimated £42 billion to £46 billion in preliminary damage and economic loss.

Paris Hilton, 43, is just one of the thousands affected by the devastating event, taking to social media to reveal she and her family watched their home ‘burn to the ground on live TV’.

In a post shared to Instagram, the businesswoman revealed she was ‘heartbroken beyond words’ and a situation that ‘no one should ever have to experience’.

“This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.

“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires.”

Hilton went on to say she was holding memory for others who had lost their homes, adding: “To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”

The Simple Life star also revealed that members of her 11:11 Media Impact Team – a charitable division of Hilton’s global media company – have already made first contact with a handful of nonprofit organizations to attempt to provide support for those impacted by the wildfires.

“We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most,” she added.

The mother-of-two went on to thank the ‘brave’ first responders and the firefighters who were currently on the ground ‘risking their lives to protect’ everyone, remarking: “You are true heroes. I am so grateful for your courage, dedication, and the incredible sacrifices you’re making to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Hilton also used her post to urge other Californian residents to ‘follow evacuation orders’.

“Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained,” she concluded. “Sending so much love and strength to all of you. We’re in this together, LA.

“Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”

Hundreds of fans and celebrities alike have flocked to Hilton’s Instagram post to send their condolences, with The Only Way Is Essex’s Vas J Morgan writing: “Sending love to you and everyone else affected.”

“I’m so sorry sis, my heart goes out to you and your beautiful family,” typed socialite Allison Melnick.

“I so very sorry for you and your family @parishilton Sorry for all the people effected by the fire as well. This is truly devastating :(” replied model Cory Bond.

Spencer Pratt shares ‘nightmare’ moment devastating LA fires destroyed his family home

Spencer Pratt shares ‘nightmare’ moment devastating LA fires destroyed his family home

Spencer Pratt and his family thankfully managed to escape the property earlier on Tuesday (7 January)

Spencer Pratt has shared the ‘nightmare’ moment the devastating wildfire in Los Angeles destroyed his and Heidi Montag’s family home.

The wildfire ripped through the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, engulfing their property – in which the on-screen couple raised their two sons, Gunner and Ryker – in fire and smoke.

Thankfully, however, the married pair – who shot to fame in the early noughties after being cast for reality docu-series The Hills before wedding in 2008 – managed to escape the property earlier on Tuesday (7 January) along with their children.

Prior to their evacuation, 41-year-old Spencer took to social media to share footage of just how destructive the force of the fire was with one TikTok video posted earlier today (8 January), showing the roaring flames burning through his home.

“Oh wow, it’s back there!” the reality TV star said in the clip panning an image of the blaze over the top of a fence.

As the fire drew closer, he declared: “For real … let’s go!”

Spencer captioned the unsettling clip: “Nightmare came true.”

He had previously posted a video showing the wildfire in the distance, explaining just how close it was to the neighbourhood: “We got a fire going on behind the house here, say a prayer for the Palisades here, there’s the town, there is the fire…”

Spencer then pointed out a helicopter, asking: “Where are the airplanes that drop the water?”

“That’s pretty black smoke, should go home and start packing up the house,” he added.

In another video posted to his Instagram, Los Angeles Fire Department officials could be seen attempting to control the fire encroaching onto Spencer and his family’s home from across the mountains.

On his story, firefighters could be seen attempting to douse the fire with water being dropped from above by emergency airplanes.

Sadly, however, their attempt was to no avail, and their property was among those in the Palisades area that was burned to the ground.

Spencer’s sister and former Made In Chelsea star Stephanie Pratt also took to social media to confirm the fate of her brother’s home.

Revealing she’d been in London when the fires broke out, she shared a photo of Spencer where the fires could be seen in the background.

“I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi & the kids,” she wrote. “And to all of our friends and neighbours who have lost their houses today.

“Just spoke to my dad – he tried to save my brother’s house but the wind is so strong there was nothing he could do. Even the fire station in the palisades has burned down. The Pacific Palisades is completely on fire. No one is there.”

Stephanie, 38, went on to explain: “My parents evacuated safely and are watching the fire rage towards their house on security cameras. I don’t even want to look at mine as my dad told me the Market down the street from my house is on fire.”

The cause of this week’s wildfire currently remains unknown.

Red flag warnings across the majority of Southern California remain in place until Thursday afternoon (9 January).

Paris Hilton makes brutal dig at Kyle Richards’ husband Mauricio after he admits things ‘turned sour’ for family

The heiress did not hold back

Paris Hilton has spectacularly hit back at her uncle after he shared the details of his falling out with the Hilton clan on a Netflix show.

For those who don’t know – Paris Hilton, reality star and heiress of the Hilton fortune – is the niece of Mauricio Umansky, real estate agent who was catapulted to fame by appearing in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Mauricio now stars in Buying Beverly Hills – a series that follows the real estate agency he founded, The Agency.

A teaser trailer for season two of the Netflix show has just dropped, which sparked the row between Mauricio and Paris.

You can listen to the less-than-complimentary things Mauricio had to say about the Hiltons below:

Mauricio previously worked with Jeff Hyland and Rick Hilton – the latter of whom is his brother-in-law, and Paris’ dad.

Mauricio is filmed drinking wine with friends, and he reminisces: “Remember when you joined Hilton & Hyland, and I was still there… then I left, I don’t know if you know that story.”

A friend interjects to ask: “Was your goal to be brought on as a partner there and it just didn’t work out?”

Mauricio confirmed: “That’s exactly what happened. So I got kinda f**ked by Hilton & Hyland.

“Today, I’m happy, but there’s 100 agents at Hilton & Hyland, they did $1 billion for the first time a year – I was 19.6% of their production.

“I went to Rick and I said ‘I’d really like equity and to be a partner.’ He went back, talked to Jeff, then got back to me, and I was told no.

“I got home, I talked to Kyle [his wife, though they separated in 2023], I said ‘this is really going to cause a lot of stress between you, your sister, and your family, and I don’t want to do this move of leaving and starting a company if you’re not comfortable. She was 100% supportive.”

Paris clapped back.

He continued: “And I remember they said ‘why didn’t you give us any warning or any issue?’ And I was like, ‘Warning?’”

Mauricio then clarifies: “I would never be caught dead speaking poorly about them because I don’t think poorly about them.

“I think that… I am Rick’s brother-in-law, but unfortunately it really affected the family, Kyle more than anybody. You know, her family stopped speaking to her. But she understood that what had been done to me was wrong.

“She stood by me, and at the end of the day, I needed that.”

Paris has since weighed in on the footage to offer her perspective – taking to the comments of Queens of Bravo’s post to vent.

The heiress fumed: “My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family — especially in the press.”

She continued: “Frankly, we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already.”

Tell us how you really feel, Paris.

Paris Hilton explains sweet meaning behind baby girl's name

Paris Hilton explains sweet meaning behind baby girl’s name

The star announced the birth of her daughter via social media.

Paris Hilton has announced the birth of her baby girl and has simultaneously revealed her sentimental moniker.

To celebrate Thanksgiving in a special way, Paris, 42, revealed the bombshell that she and her entrepreneur husband, Carter Reum, had recently welcomed a daughter into the world.

The news comes just 11 months after the pair became parents for the first time via surrogate in January.

At the time of her first child’s birth announcement, The Simple Life star told Vogue that plans for more kids were in motion.

She also claimed that she was after a ‘little girl’.

In an excerpt from her memoir, Paris, the DJ revealed that she had named her firstborn son after her late grandfather, William Barron Hilton.

She also stated that she had landed on the name ‘Phoenix’ years ago.

Paris wrote: “We planned to name him Phoenix, a name I had decided on years ago when I was searching cities, countries, and states on a map.”

Paris Hilton welcomed her first child earlier this year.

Thus, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum was born, and Paris told the aforementioned publication that he was ‘so precious and sweet’.

“When I look at my baby photos, he looks so similar to me. We both have the same lips and the same smile.”

On Friday, the mum-of-two announced that she had added another child to her brood – a daughter called London.

Paris shared a picture of a baby grow on her social media feed which was embroidered with her child’s name.

In the image, shared with her 25.5 million Instagram followers, she included a cute crocheted rabbit and a pair of heart-frame sunglasses.

The Simple Life star announced the birth of her second child via social media.

Instagram/@parishilton

However, fans of the Ellen DeGeneres Show will know that she actually revealed her daughter’s name way back in January 2022.

On the American talk show, the 42-year-old said: “The girl is going to be named London Marilyn Hilton Reum.

“Marilyn, after my grandmother. And London because it’s my favourite city and I think that Paris and London sound cute together.”

At the time, she didn’t reveal that her son’s name would be Phoenix because she was ‘scared someone was going to steal it’.

Paris opened up about her surrogacy journey in September 2021, and said that Kim Kardashian actually gave her the idea.

Paris celebrated Thanksgiving with her children.

Instagram/@parishilton

Speaking on the Trend Reporter with Mara podcast at the time, the ‘Stars are Blind’ singer said: “[Kim] was the one who told me about that. I didn’t even know anything about it.

“I’m happy that she told me that advice and introduced me to her doctor.”

Earlier this year, Paris stated that fear of childbirth was the main reason behind her surrogacy journey.

She told Glamour Magazine: “I’m just so scared, I think, again, leading back to Provo of even being in a doctor’s office, just all of that. The shots, the IVs that they put in.

“When I was in The Simple Life, I had to be in a room when a woman was giving birth and that traumatised me as well.”

She added that she wanted a ‘family so bad’ and that childbirth and death were the two things that scared her most in the world.
