Sean “P. Diddy” Combs might have a familiar face in the crowd as his former friend and hype man contemplates attending his upcoming trial.
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs might see some interest from celebrities as the gallery is open to the general public.
The rapper’s longtime friend, Mase, admitted he’s been getting a flurry of questions from others wondering if they’ll see him in the crowd as the trial date is creeping up. He said on his podcast It Is What It Is, “I wanna put it out to the fans. I’ll let the fans vote on it — unless you wanna vote on it, Killa. They’re asking me to come to the Diddy trial, You think I should go this week?”
Mase and Diddy have a lengthy and complicated relationship with a few ups and downs, but ever since Diddy found himself in hot water, Mase hasn’t shied away from being vocal on the matter. In fact, at one point, he even debated seeing Diddy while in jail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Mase, also known as Mason Durell Betha, is an American rapper who got his start largely through Diddy’s guidance. He was signed to the music mogul’s record label, Bad Boy Records. He was often seen closely by Diddy’s side, acting as his “hype man” during various performances. He also released his own singles which climbed the chart.
Despite the success, tension rose between Mase and Diddy when he made a bid to leave the label after a series of tragic issues, including the death of the Notorious B.I.G.
The beef got so big that they even started taking hits at each other in their tracks. In Mase’s 2022 track Oracle 2: The Liberation of Mason Betha, he rapped, “Yeah, I’m just a Harlem n***a reppin’ down a Vegas strip with my own Suge. You from Mt. Vernon, n***a, go and rep your own hood… You ain’t no architect, you just a n***a who know how to market death.
Diddy hit back, claiming Mase, who had found God prior, was a “fake pastor.” He also claimed that Mase owed the record label $3 million still.
While they’re on rocky terms, it seems Mase still has a soft spot for Diddy, who was charged with sex trafficking. “These are the times when you need people to check up and make sure you’re good,” he said. “He didn’t do all bad, he did some good. I ain’t talking about the tape stuff and all of that, I’m talking about the musical side. Giving me an opportunity, I think as a person of class you definitely got to show up and sit somewhere in the court if they let you.”
Mase admitted he doesn’t know if Diddy is innocent or not and also emphasized he doesn’t condone the serious allegations the Bad Boy CEO faces.
Diddy’s trial is set to kick off on May 12. Mase, while he might show up to the ordeal, also has other plans for the day. He teased to fans that he’s considering dropping some music at the same time.
“The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping,” he said. “You like that? You made me put it out there. I wasn’t going to put that out there, but Mo, you made me.”
Diddy is facing five charges across three federal indictments, including sex trafficking, conspiracy racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. Additionally, he vehemently denies all allegations of wrongdoing against him, including those alleged in civil lawsuits.
