The U.S. Dollar Bill Worth $10,000

A rare piece of American currency, the 1874 $1 United States Note, holds a distinctive place in U.S. financial history and is a prized find among collectors today.

According to Yahoo Finance, this series of dollar bills marked a year of design changes on U.S. banknotes, setting a style that was later replicated on $1 bills in 1875, 1878, 1880, and 1917.

The front of the 1874 note features a portrait of George Washington, accompanied by an “iconic vignette” of Christopher Columbus on the reverse, creating a blend of historical figures that made the bill memorable for its era, according to Yahoo Finance.

While most $1 bills from this series can sell for anywhere between $125 and $400, uncirculated and high-quality specimens are valued much higher.

In gem condition, prices can rise to $10,000, reflecting the bill’s rarity and condition, according to Yahoo Finance.

This demand highlights the note’s unique design and the evolving art of American currency during the 19th century, making it a coveted piece among collectors.
