Internet sleuths speculated online that the embarrassed woman seen beside Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his colleague Kristin Cabot as they canoodled at a Coldplay concert was one of their co-workers, Alyssa Stoddard.
However, Page Six can confirm the red-faced woman grimacing as Byron and Cabot hid from jumbotron cameras in apparent shame at the rock band’s Boston-area concert Wednesday night is not Stoddard.
“Alyssa was not there. This is a rumor started on Twitter. There may be some similarities in the countenance of the person, but it’s not [Stoddard],” a rep at a public relations firm hired on behalf of Astronomer tells us Friday. “So [the rumor] is totally false based on misinformation.”
People online have gotten into debates over whether Stoddard is in the video, with one person claiming via TikTok, “That’s not her. I know Alyssa and that is 100% not her.”
Meanwhile, another disputed, “It’s her. We gotta excuse the red face, she was about to feel the true power of embarrassment.”
Page Six has reached out to Stoddard for comment but has not immediately heard back.
Stoddard was seemingly dragged into the scandal because of her close ties to Cabot, who is her boss.
Five months ago, she announced via LinkedIn, “I couldn’t be more excited to announce that I’ve started my next adventure! I’ve joined Kristin Cabot (Thornby) and the amazing People team at Astronomer, leading People Operations and Strategy!”
She continued to gush over the Byron-led company in February, “Astronomer is on a mission to deliver the world’s data, and what I’ve experienced so far has been nothing short of inspiring. I’m honored to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see what lies ahead!”
The software company staffer then concluded, “Here’s to new beginnings and exciting opportunities 🚀.”
Despite being at Astronomer for only a short amount of time, Stoddard already received a promotion.
Last week, Cabot announced in a post via her now-deactivated LinkedIn account that Stoddard had been “promoted to VP of People at Astronomer.”
“I’ve had the true privilege of working with Alyssa at four different companies over the years — and every time she has brought an extraordinary mix of empathy, operational excellence and unwavering integrity,” the chief people officer wrote, per a screenshot of the message obtained by The Post.
“She’s also a thoughtful, values-driven partner who makes every team she touches stronger.”
As one social media user pointed out, “People are speculating she knew about the relationship and got promoted due to it. she was promoted 4 months on the job.”
Stoddard has continued to stay silent on the scandal and has not issued a formal statement. Neither Byron nor Cabot have spoken out on the matter, either.
